Weird Science?!?

Well it could be a coincidence, but if I had to guess I would say it probably had more to do with the drop in atmospheric pressure and temperature during the storm than anything electrical. The rubber balloons may have stretched and so displaced more air, mylar is rather inflexible and could not stay buoyant.
