I will be filing my income taxes and would like to know if I can claim my boyfriend as a dependent?

My boyfriend and I have been living together for the previous couple of years. May I claim as head of household since I have obtained higher gross income between us? Is there a possibility of claiming him as a dependent and what are the cirstances against or for this proposition?
