Why did he say this???

basically i was in my ex 's car.we were talking and i said to him the other day kris took me home and he put his foot down really hard and was driving really fast. My ex boyfriend replied saying did he? does he put his foot down more than me? i want to know why my ex said this? was he comparing himself to this other guy who took me home?
