Since religion is such an effective disguise for evil, won’t there be less evil with less religion in society?

There are many, many evil people operating within organized religions these days. Organized religion is for evil people what a swamp is for an alligator. Just look at the Catholic Church and all those greed filled and money motivated American preachers; absolute evil. Without religion, if the swamp was drained, these nasty alligators wouldn’t have anywhere to hide; they would have to stop molesting children and go and get real jobs. This would be infinitely better for society, right?
